People in India are crazy after two things, the first one is off course Cricket and the second one is none other than Bollywood movies and trust me guys I am no exception. I just love watching Bollywood movies especially the ones with “Happy Endings.” I can go on and on raving about bollywood movies, so I guess the best option is that I should stop blabbering so that you can have a glance at the top 10 Bollywood movies of 2013 as I am a huge fan so this is a must make compilation for me. These are my personal picks from the year 2013.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag:
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag Starring Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor, Divya Dutta, Yograj Singh, Prakash Raj and Pavan Malhotra is a biographical sports drama directed and produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The movie is inspired by the life of an Indian athlete who was an Olympian and a national champion runner.
Aashiqui 2 is a sequel of 1990 musical blockbuster Aashiqui. Aashiqui 2 was also a musical romantic movie directed by Mohit Suri starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor as the lead couple. This movie is an intense love story focused on the turbulent relationship between Arohi(Shraddha Kapoor) and Rahul(Aditya Roy Kapoor). Their relationship gets worsened because of Rahul’s temperament and alcohol abuse.
Special Chhabis is a thriller starring Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, Manoj Bajpai, Anupam Kher and Jimmy Shergil and directed by Neeraj Panday. The film is inspired by some real life heist on 19 March 1987 where some fraud CBI officers conducted an income tax raid on some branch of jeweller in Mumbai.
Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela:
Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juilet. This romantic drama is directed by ace bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie is set in violent times and eponymous lead roles are played by Deepika Padukone as Leela and Ranveer Singh as Ram.
Kai Po Che!:
The movie Kai Po Che! is a drama buddy film inspired by Chetan Bhagat’s novel “The 3 Mistakes Of My Life.” Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the story revolves around the three main protagonists portrayed by Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Rajkummar Rao. The film is focused on the deep friendship of three friends, Ishaan(Sushant Singh Rajput), Govind(Rajkummar Rao) and Omi(Amit Sadh). But eventually the innocence in their friendship gets tarnished by communal hatred and religious politics.
Yeh Jawani Hain Deewani:
Yeh Jawani Hain Deewani starring Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles and Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin in the supporting roles is directed b by Ayan Mukerji. The story revolves around the friendship and eventual love between Naina(Deepika Padukone) and Bunny(Ranbir Kapoor.)
Dhoom 3 is an action thriller starring Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra. The movie is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. The movie is focused on the revenge saga of two twin brothers played by Aamir Khan.
Raajhanaa is a romantic drama directed by Anand L. Rai, the lead roles are played by Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush who made his debut in Bollywood with this film. The movie revolves around the childhood, intense, obsessive one sided love of Kundan Shankar(Dhanush) for Zoya Haider(Sonam Kapoor.)
Krrish 3 is third film of the Krrish series starring Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut. It is a science fiction superhero film. The film depicts the life of a scientist Rohit Mehra and his son with superhero powers, Krrish or Krishna Mehra(both the roles are played by Hrithik Roshan). The story revolves around the conspiracy orchestrated by the evil genius Kaal(Vivek Oberoi.)
Chennai Express is a comedy action film directed by Rohit Shetty starring Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. The movie is about a man’s journey from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what all happens along the way.
